The Dagloze Krant magazine was our self-published project that occurred from 2002-2005. It lasted 8 issues, until we moved from Holland to the USA.

partners in crime, in it for life

This
fantastic site displays the Art Work of these two sordid misfits,
prolific crackpots, uncensored rebels, deranged blowtops, maniacal
lovers . . including their highly acclaimed magazine creation "The
Dagloze Krant".
What it is
"It is a whacked-out psychoic bar room brawl through the comical dredges of urban underground nightlife. . ." -Pim Fortuijn
"The
Dagloze Krant began as a joke during some drunken binge, and then
climbed out of the wasted trenches it was conceived in and evolved into
the most sought-after zine of the day!" -F. Booij
". . .Truly
an urban marvel- raunchy and full of itself, but in absolutely no way
glamerous or arrogant, just like me!"-Rev. Beat Man
"It' a great, quick laugh. I keep it next to the toilet!" -Theo van Gogh

"DAGLOZE KRANT #3
(previous address:Tilanusstraat 246 / 1091 DZ Amsterdam / HOLLAND. E-mail: daglozekrant@lycos.com)
A
wacky collection of cartoons, modified photos, text, Christmas and
moustaches. Yes, this is the Christmas issue and also the moustache
issue, and moustaches abound! Also: a Strange Story and drawing by
Ewan
Cameron, Xmas tunes, Hasil Adkins, a live show review and more. The
coolest thing about this is how the cover was fashioned from a
discarded envelope. Paste something on the front and – boom! – you've
got a unique package.
Our InitiativeThis is an open ended introductory letter to the galleries/people we would like to get to know better...
We
would like to introduce ourselves to you, first through this site and
sometime in person in the future... We are the creators/editors of the
Dutch underground magazine “The Dagloze Krant” (translation “The
Day-less Newspaper”; it’s a play on the Dutch word for homeless…and
also much funnier in Dutch, unfortunately for English speakers...).
Having just relocated to Northern California, USA, our intention is
naturally to seek out personable and interesting galleries and people
for exhibition and collaboration, and FUN!!!
First, a little
about what we do as artists: Our motto is to “USE EVERYTHING”, and we
take our materials most often from the refuse of society. We use
cut-and-paste collage, drawing, and painting in our work, humorously
responding to behaviors, images, and situations all around us.
In the last three years we have released eight issues of The Dagloze
Krant. The last four issues came with an accompanying CD, and the ninth
issue is in the works as our last issue. The issues are generally 40
pages long, 150 copies each, and we published our own work as well as
submitted work. Most of the issues have had a subtle theme. For example
issue number 3 was the “Christmas and Mustaches” issue. We love themes
that don’t tie you down…
The latest public ventures of our project
were last winter and spring 2005. Involving several venues, we would
set up tables for collective collage making and provide all the
materials, allowing the audience to sit and create in the midst of a
performance from another artist/band. This was a fantastic experience
because we could see submissions to the magazine being produced (all
the blood, sweaty brimstone and booze of them), instead of opening them
from the mail. Very rewarding, and the audience enjoyed it very much,
as it brought them together in a way other that just meeting up for a
drink and a gig. The collective collages then would be showing at the
following event. Some of the venues involved were: De Chiellerie,
Amsterdam, NL; De Melkfabriek, Arnhem, NL; Extrapool, Nijmegen, NL.
STAY TUNED FOR OUR NEXT EDITION COMING SOME SUMMER SOON!!!
Since we live in English-speaking land the name of the rag will be changed.
We are considering the following: SIR BOG'S GRAV, and LETTUCE PLAY
Please let us know which you hate the LEAST!
Kisses!!! Johnny Olanda and Lizzy Lee Savage!
