My Visible Leakage 2005
My Visible Leakage is the title of a film made with my ECHO films that i borrowed
from Sutter Memorial Hospital in California. They were made in 1978 and
1991. The film has been edited together with a sound piece called the Angina
Soundtrack, recorded with Erik Pols in Amsterdam, 2005.
Here are some stills that have been incorporated into a large 2 part installation called The Chambers of the Heart, that was at the iLLUSUM gallery, June-August, 2005, Amsterdam.
These images are basically x-rays with printed text over them, and then suspended before a small lamp. In the gallery four stills hung on each side of the room with the film projected on the back wall and the sound track reverberating through the space.
This gave the appearance of a church-like space, a holy place, where the participating audience of worshipers would come and look deep into my heart, and then hopefully deep into their own.
